Hi Martin, How did you get into football and when?
I first started going to football with my sports-mad Dad aged about 5 years old he took me to see Spurs Double winning team play Notts Forest at white hart lane.
What was your first memory of trouble at a football match?
First memory of trouble at a game was when we played Man Utd at home mid-60s and united took the whole of the shed end, they had thousands in there and a small group of Chelsea fans tried all through the game to shift them.
When did you become a football casual?
I was a Skinhead in 67 at Spurs away wearing my sheepskin coat jungle green trousers braces and my brother’s steel toe-capped commando boots size 10 ( I was a size 5 ) then aged 11.
Who are your main rivals?
Main rivals are obviously the big teams in London, West Ham, Arsenal, Spurs and Millwall along with Man U.
Who else did you have a big battle with?
Had loads of battles with Spurs over the years at their place including 1967 with the battle of the Park lane, hundreds arrested, loads of weapons, knives, hammers and axes. Had some good ones with Cardiff and Pompey, both top firms.
Who have you come unstuck against?
Following Chelsea, we have come unstuck a few times. Bristol City and Rotherham we’re places we got to big for our boots and thought we’d take the piss and come unstuck.
Name 5 firms you rate and why?
Well, there’s the obvious but I’d go for Bristol City, Cardiff, Boro, Pompey and Forest.
Name 5 firms you don’t rate and why?
Watford, besides what the brothers grim the Brimsons say, Swansea bunch of bully’s, Southampton never saw them home or away, Wimbledon lol and Liverpool never done anything at Chelsea.
What clobber do you wear down the match?
A suit of armour.
What was your music scene on your awayday?
Early days music-wise it was all reggae and soul. Later Depeche Mode, hair cut 100, Bob Marley, Burning Spear. Today Peters and Lee. Favourite all-time song there’s 2 sons of my father by Chicory Tip and Jo Jo Gunn run run run.
Can you tell us about the book/s you have written?
I’ve been a black cab driver in London for 28 years just retired ran my publishing company Head Hunter books have written for mainstream publishing and John Blake’s.
And lastly, tell us what you enjoyed about being a football casual?
Being a football casual is just being yourself wearing nice clothes having good loyal mates and nowadays meeting up with good solid people who you once had fisty cuffs with.
Thank you for taking the time to speak to us at Awayday radio.
