Finding Bella are a five-piece indie rock band formed in the West Midlands. The band consists of Oliver White on vocals and guitar; Simon Black on lead guitar; Ben White on keys/synth; Liam Hadfield on bass guitar and John Woodward on drums.

Originally forming during the COVID-19 pandemic, the band’s mutual appreciation of eclectic alternative indie rock led to them performing and writing music together in the hope that their strong passion and energy could be shared with a wider audience. By the end of 2021, the band had begun to frequently gig in and around the Birmingham area, showcasing their varied catalogue of original and cover music whilst ever-increasing their support base and reach.

Finding Bella released their debut single, “Good Right Now“, on 11th February 2022 and have since been reviewed as “one of the big breakout bands predicted for 2022” with one review commenting that “if their statement release is anything to go by, Finding Bella’s experiences are about to get a whole lot bigger”.

Their latest single ‘Set it Off’ is due for release on 01/07/2022 and to celebrate the release, Finding Bella are headlining the Sunflower Lounge in Birmingham on 09/07/2022. Tickets and more information can be found here – https://linktr.ee/FindingBella

We were lucky enough to get a sneak preview of this track and as with their debut single, it does not disappoint. It continues in the same vein: punchy, anthemic, a heady statement of glorious nights out, having fun, it kind of took me back to summer nights out back in the 90’s when you were allowed to have some fun, it has that feel to it.

From the beginning, a pounding drum and a banging bass is followed by a melodic intro riff that really gets the head nodding and feet tapping.  The vocal kicks in, strong, ‘winding down and firing up’ getting you ready for the night ahead. The keyboard elements act as the glue for the rest of the band and put together the whole package really sets the scene for the evening’s antics, preparing for a good time.

“this is going to be a fans favourite”

For me the chorus really ‘Sets it off’, and, after a mid-section solo, the instruments fall silent to just the vocal chorus… “Set it off when the bass kicks in and you can taste the drop” I can see this being sung, no, chanted out by any crowd they play in front of, whether it’s a festival or club gig, its catchy, this is going to be a fans favourite.

It’s a real fun song, energy driven, delivered well in every aspect, guaranteed to please any crowd, guaranteed to get people dancing, it has the feeling of summer and just enjoying yourself, the band obviously enjoy it and this shows through in the music. A sure-fire summer anthem. Set it off is a reflection of the band’s ethos, energy and outlook bringing together melodic riffs and synths, power-driven drum fills, thundering bass and punchy vocals. These boys will go far!
