Box Of Trash are set to release their debut single ‘Here and Now’ on Friday 11th November 2022 and is part of their run of releases on the lead up to when they drop their debut album in March 2023. The band initially started off as a side project by Lyle Kennedy (Vocals/ Song Writer) and Barry Fisher (Lead Guitar/ Song Writer), then Jordan McKee (Drums) came along, followed by Aiden Davidson (Bass) to complete the line-up.
They decided to give it a real go in 2021 when ThirdFire Records offered them a recording contract, this gave the band the unreal opportunity to head over to Chicago in the USA to record their debut album in September 2022. Now the band seek to explore whatever opportunities arise from the releases and grow their fanbase as they work toward album number 2.
They chose to release this particular track in order to set a precedent, giving new and old fans alike a taste of what is to come. It’s a psychedelic journey of someone living in a dream world, out of touch, before being awoken and finding that reality is different to what they thought.
“A punchy resonating bass line”
Opening with a melodic chiming guitar reminiscent of the classic 90’s Britpop era before a solid pounding drum beat kicks in, upping the tempo, this drives the track throughout along with a punchy, resonating bass line. A canvas for the rest of the band to paint their picture. It sounds accomplished and its clear they honed their talents with every member on point.

The vocal is strong and punches through the instrumental, delivering psychedelic lyrics taking you on a journey “Strangely I faintly hear the sounds, of a thousand and one trumpets thundering to the ground” Its classic brit rock fused with psychedelia and blends perfectly. Packed full of melodic, soaring guitar riffs and lead licks which emphasise the vocal further. Climbing riffs sparkle and shine adding texture and colour with a brightness that shimmers throughout. They swirl and intertwine with the vocal.

There is a real swagger in this track, its upbeat, bright and catchy. Its full of hard hitting melodies, intense drum beats and punchy bass lines and not forgetting the great vocal, it’s a great sound and a really strong debut single. I find myself already looking forward to the album and can’t wait to see what else they have in their locker. I thoroughly recommend you give it a listen!
