Hi and welcome to the Awayday Radio interview were each week we will be interviewing new and up and coming bands and artists from the UK.
Hiya Guys firstly thanks for agreeing to talk to us at Awayday Radio.
Please introduce us to the band.
Stu Whiston – Vocals & Guitar
Mike Lo Bosco – Lead Guitar
Daz Edwards – Bass
Tom Turney – Drums
What first got you into music?
Grew up hearing my parents music.. Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, Abba, Sex Pistols, Carpenters and U2 etc..
Who inspired you to make music?
I distinctly remember some school mates played a covers set at dinner time once and it blew me away seeing them on stage with guitars and everyone singing along. I’d had a casio keyboard a few years before but as soon as i witnessed the school gig i made a promise with myself to learn the guitar and form a band.

How would you describe the music that you typically create?
An eclectic swirl of huge melodic guitar riffs & northern grooves colliding with addictive arena-sized choruses.
I see you recently signed with a record label how did that come about?
Yes, we signed with an indie rock & roll label called 42’s Records in March. They heard two songs we’d recently recorded, ‘Be My Saviour’ and ‘Time Is Right’ and buzzed off them.
Where have you performed?
We’ve played many gigs in our hometown of Stoke at venues such as The Sugarmill and The Underground. We’ve supported Shaun Ryder (Happy Mondays) and Kyle Falconer (The View) which were decent experiences. Kendal Calling was a mega experience for us, playing to a festival crowd and seeing people singing the words to our tunes. We’ve also played the Night & Day in Manchester, The Ferret in Preston and Electric Church in Blackburn.
What are your favourite and least favourite venues?
The Sugarmill is a fantastic venue in Stoke.. Seen so many bands there on their way up.. The View, DMA’s, The Horror’s, Pigeon Detectives, The Enemy and The Twang. Least favourite venue? Can’t think of one we didn’t enjoy playing to be honest.
Do you have any upcoming shows?
18th December – Aatma – Manchester
19th Feb – Ku Bar – Stockton-on-Tees
3rd April – Liverpool – Jimmys
9th April – Nottingham – Rescue Rooms
1st May – Square One – Manchester
8th May – Sheffield – Raynor Lounge
12th -14th November – Shiiine On Festival
There’s quite a few more dates to announce very soon.
What is your favourite song to perform?
At the minute it’s ‘Be My Saviour’.. Massive chorus
What other songs or albums have you done?
All our singles are on spotify, itunes, apple m, youtube and all other good digital stores. We’re planning on released an album next year.
We released a digital / physical CD including the single ‘Time Is Right’ which charted at number two in the UK Physical Singles Chart ahead of some of our influences including Noel Gallagher, Liam Gallagher, New Order, Echo and the Bunnymen and David Bowie.
Our new single ‘True To Life’ was XS Manchester’s ‘Single of the Week’ and played on BBC Introducing and Amazing Radio.
Which famous musicians do you admire and why?
Noel Gallagher. For writing some of the best songs ever and having the bollocks to leave one of the best bands ever.
Adrian Borlan from The Sound. Sensational songwriter and an original guitarist. Some of his chord progressions and guitar solos were unique.
Kurt Cobain. Nevermind is in my top 5 favourite albums. He was a poet with a fuzz pedal and his live performances were never dull or boring.
What is one message you would give to your fans?
Wear a mask
I got to ask this but what football teams do you support?
My dad is a life long Stoke City fan so by fear of being disowned so am i. They’re doing pretty well as of late. Could see them pass Manchester United on the way up.
What casual gear do you all wear?
Adidas is popular one. Luke clothing too. They sponsor Stoke City and got in touch with us. Watch the video to our new single ‘True To Life’ to catch some Luke threads.
What’s next for you?
We have new music coming out very soon including a cover song that’ll blow people away. As soon as the restrictions on live music alter we’ll be hitting as many cities as we can next year.
Well here at Awayday Radio we are big fans of yours so we will follow you on your journey to the top and we hope that you will comeback and do another interview with us after you finish your world tour?
Ha ha of course. Big thanks for the support and all the best.
