Singer songwriter Lissy Taylor is back with yet another release, her third of four planned for this year. Lissy is fast becoming a rising star, originally from Stoke-On-Trent, Lissy moved to the USA in 2015 where she began song writing and performing. Returning to Manchester UK in 2017 to study at the British and Irish Modern Music Institute (BIMM) graduating with a first-class honours degree in Song writing in 2020.

Lissy has already had the BBC Introducing Record of The Week at BBC Stoke three times in a row this year for each set release so far. Her accolades include being shortlisted for Radio 1’s Live Lounge, premiere with CLASH Magazine, plays on BBC Radio 2, Radio X and record of the week with XS Manchester.

Lissy has an addictive indie sound, an absolute gem of a voice, taking her influences from the likes of Florence and The Machine, Wolf Alice, Arctic Monkeys and Sam Fender, she has released a number of highly acclaimed singles to date including ‘Young’ and ‘She’s a Stunner’Review Here

“Addictive indie sound”

Now she is back with another fantastic track and accompanying video ‘Healer’. Set for release on 26th August 2022. As with everything Lissy does, emotion is the key, and this track is no different. According to Lissy “Healer is Inspired by people who go above and beyond to help others, rooted in selflessness and unconditional love. Healer is unwavering devotion pushed to the limits. Healer is giving everything you can give”

Written during the Covid outbreak and inspired by all the acts of kindness that people gave makes this song relatable to everyone. The concept for the video Youtube focussed on heated emotions between actors portrayed as mother and daughter. This was chosen to highlight the more complex emotions.

From the beginning to the very end it packs raw emotion, highlighted by her vocal which just oozes sensitivity, it comes from the soul and captures the subject matter of how loved one’s bring out the good and the bad, whilst being there and the stresses and strains this bring on relationships. But it isn’t a sad song, its upbeat, anthemic and for me really identifies the spirit of the last few years.

“It packs raw emotion”

Its full of catchy, melodic guitar riffs, driven by the bass lines and thumping drum beats, but it’s the vocal and compelling lyrics that carry it, “Everything I do I do it for” and “Ill always be right where you need me” says it all really. After all the stuff that has gone down in the last few years, this should be the anthem, I mean we’ve all needed a healer from time to time and this is it.

“A rich, powerful yet sensitive vocal”

Lissy’s songs just get better and better with every release, little wonder she is going to be (if not already) one of the stand out artists of 2022. Her approach to relevant, relatable song writing coupled with a rich, powerful yet sensitive vocal and backed by musicians that know how to highlight and push forward what Lissy is saying in her songs is a match for success.
