Hard hitting Alt-Rock quartet The Ruby Tuesdays have returned with their first release on Golden Robot records ‘She’s Got You’. After a successful debut single ‘Who You Running From?’ which reached over 20,000 streams in its first week and followed by ‘Rivers of Gold’ which reached no.5 in the UK’s official vinyl singles chart, The Ruby Tuesdays are a rapidly growing force on the UK indie rock scene. Having ripped up their hometown of Blackburn, their fanbase is growing nationwide. All of this done completely independently, prior to any help of a label or management.
The Ruby Tuesdays are Tucker (Vocals/Rhythm Guitar), Josh (Lead Guitar), Baird (Drums), Matty Hall (Bass). Inspiration comes from a huge range of bands. Matty cites Californian rock group Queens of the Stone Age. Tucker is a big fan of Reading-based rock band, The Amazons, and US rapper Wu-Tang Clan.
She’s Got You is a satirical take on a typical love song, spinning it on its head and taking apart the grittier aspects of a relationship. Recorded at Red City Recordings by David Radahd-Jones (Death Blooms, Jordan Allen, Boston manor).
This track is an absolute barnstormer, a sheer wall of sound, its one of those tracks that has to be played loud…if not what’s the point! A banging drum intro opens the song before you are hit with a sonic explosion of blistering guitars that hit hard. Driven by a barrage of pounding drums and a throbbing bass, it’s packed full of electrically charged guitar riffs and chops that fill your ears with resonating Rock n Roll.
“A sonic explosion of blistering guitars”
The vocal is powerful, strong and gritty, it has to be, the chorus says it all and gets the message across “She’s got you hanging by a thread, she’s got you you’re better dead”. The Tuesdays have taken elements of past rock masterpieces and blended it with a modern sound producing a hard hitting, anthemic, straight talking gem of a song.
“Hard hitting, anthemic, straight talking”
All in all, The Ruby Tuesdays have created a sound that’s honest, hard, and energetic. Packed with power both musically and vocally it leaves nothing behind. It carries a certain swagger that leaves you wanting more.
They are set to play at Off the Square in Manchester on November 5th 2022. More details about the band can be found here.
