Mvnich are a three-piece indie/alternative band based in Coventry and are releasing their third single ‘These Arms’ on the 30th September. Consisting of Daniel Davis (Vocals, and Guitar), Tom Godwin (Bass) and Connor Davis (Drums) the three – piece bring together an array of different sounds from blues to post punk.
Formed in Coventry after a chance drunken encounter outside a pub one night, Mvnich have been perfecting their sound since late 2018, they have gone on to support the likes of Catholic Action, headlined Square One in their native Coventry and recently played a sold-out HMV Empire supporting Idle Noise .
Now they are following up on their previous releases ‘Hard To Breathe’ and ‘Surreal path’ with their latest single which showcases the bold unique sound the band have been developing over the last year or so, making this track a real statement of intent.

The song is a story of love and loss and everything in between and opens with a catchy, rhythmic guitar hook and soft bassline before a gentle, almost yearning vocal cuts in delivered with passion and expression. There is an air of vulnerability rolling through the verses, amplified by the chime of the guitars and Daniel’s emotive vocals with lines like “I’ll hold you til I’m old and grey”

The whole tone and feeling changes in the chorus’s, in come the driven guitars, thundering basslines and barrages of pounding drums, the pace steps up and the vocal changes, still expressive but snarling and packed full of passion, and this is further amplified with the line “And everything can fall apart, but I’ll hold you right in these arms” if the verse is a gentle plea for love, then the chorus is a scream of emotional pain when that love is gone or about to go. It’s a kaleidoscope of emotion and drama.

This is a really clever song, the contrast between the verses and chorus tells a vivid story, it’s packed full of powerful emotion and passion. It has a high energy within the chorus and yet a subtle gentler more warming feel in the verses. Packed with rhythm and clever lyrics, delivered with a real swagger it really showcases the band’s talent.
