One thing that I like about Gazelle is the variety in the tracks they release, having reviewed a number of their latest releases along with an interview (Read It Here) with the lads, they are unique, you never know what sort of track they will produce next. From the Northern Soul sound of ‘Magic Carpet Ride’ to the indie infused ‘Clementine’ and not forgetting the emotive, powerful and passionate ‘Violet Hour Blues’ they never rest on their laurels. They strive to employ a unique sound, gambling on change and sticking to what they want to do, regardless of what is the “In sound” they know what they want and they know how to obtain it. This has to be admired.

Arcadia is the latest musical feast to be released by the Leicester lads and yet again it’s a complete contrast to their last track, keeping fans and reviewers on their toes, I always look forward to receiving their latest tracks, its like a certain Forrest Gump said “It’s like box of chocolates, you never know what you are gonna get” One thing is for sure though, its always good and that is a guarantee.

“One of the best vocals around at the moment”

You always have great melodies, accomplished musicianship, relevant lyrics and one of the best vocals around at the moment. Everything is delivered on point and with full on passion and energy. They blow audiences away with their live performances I have been told I haven’t seen them…yet) but they feature at No.1 on my to see list. So, in a nutshell this band have it all.

So, on to the track in question. Arcadia is their 4th track to be released this year on 14th November, and just when you think things can’t get any better along comes another anthem to knock you off your feet.  Not only do they give you a great song, every track comes with a quality video (Arcadia Video Here) to go along with it, every song has a story to tell, every song is fantastic. This is a clever band who should be further up the musical ladder than they are.

“Rolling haunting guitar riff”

Arcadia opens with vocal that has both range and depth backed with rolling haunting guitar riff swirling and churning underneath, its punchy and sets you up for the anthemic chorus which I can guarantee will have a crowd chanting back “Hey Hey get off the carousel…”. verse two and a slight shift, chugging melodic bass riffs intertwine with the vocal building up to the chorus again before the driving guitars kick in again.

“Chugging melodic bass riffs”

The mid-section, and we have a glorious echo on the vocal backed with driving drums and bass, a sound like a slowed down jaggy pick scrape gives a real haunting tone, it sounds great and combines perfectly with the  fantastic soaring  vocal. Arcadia is packed full of melodies, great guitar riffs and a vocal second to none.

“Packed full of melodies”

I have to be totally honest, Gazelle for me are one the best bands around at the moment, I will make no excuses, I am a huge fan of their sound or should I say sounds, they bring a whole new dimension to the independent music scene, I cannot believe they haven’t had more recognition. They are unique in that you can’t lump them to a specific genre, each track brings a different vibe to the table. If 2022 is anything to go by then surely 2023 is going to be the year of the Gazelle.
