Hiya Guys thanks for letting Awayday Radio interview?
Please introduce us to the band.
There’s
Matt – guitar
Sam – keys (that’s me)
Ben – bass
Jamie – sings
Jonny bangs drums
What first got you into music?
It was the 90s britpop scene for Sam our keys player… turning on top of the pops back in the day and watching Oasis swap instruments and mime was a great intro to what music can be. For Ben it was when he first laid eyes on Mark Knopfler…
Then all sorts of moments. We love the 80s and 90s. Music has and does mean everything to us.
Who inspired you to make music?
It’s hard to pin point a specific person/act – the Leeds music scene in the mid to late noughties was buzzing with up and coming bands and we all kind of got swept up in that scene.
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
At it’s simplest it’s indie music taking inspiration from everything from our parents record collections. 80s/ 90s mixed with a modern touch and then a throwback to the 60s. The second album has definitely taken on a more rock n roll vibe with big sounding guitars and melodic hooks that get stuck in your head for days.

Have you signed with a record label?
We’ve been extremely lucky as our good friend Mick at Shed Load Records got us on his label during lockdown. He didn’t waste anytime getting our first album onto a shiny red vinyl and out to the masses.
Where have you performed?
Anywhere that would have us.
What are your favourite and least favourite venues?
Favourite venues. Every venue. It’s such a difficult time for venues and music. We’re ready to play in as many as possible, just as soon as we can.
Do you have any upcoming shows?
YES! F*** this virus… we’re booking up shows left, right and centre for 2021. Our next “hometown” show is booked in at the Warehouse in Leeds (Saturday 27th November) – it’s nearly sold out which has chuffed us to bits. We’ve loads of festivals booked too but we’re expecting a few things to move around. Fingers crossed, we get to play as many 2021 shows as possible though. We miss gigging.
What is your favourite song to perform?
We do a mean cover of Sultans of Swing.
What other songs or albums have you done?
Our first album was called Mystery – this would be a pretty dull interview if we listed out all the songs we’ve ever recorded as we’ve done loads. Just check us out on Online or buy our album.
Which famous musicians do you admire and why?
I think it’s amazing how that duo in Daft Punk haven’t taken their helmets off on stage… not even once. We love INXS, Britpop, U2, 70s glam, 60s rock and roll and Motown. On and on it goes.
What is one message you would give to your fans?
Thanks for all the love so far.
I got to ask this but what football teams do you support?
We’re mostly all Leeds United supporters. We’ve been very lucky to get a lot of support from the club. We even got a letter from Bielsa and message off Cooper the captain.
What casual gear do you all wear?
We love Adidas. A bit of vintage. All sorts really.
What’s next for you?
We’re finishing off the second album in the studio real soon. We keep releasing singles. Our new one On The Ropes came out just this week.
Well here at Awayday Radio we are big fans of yours so we will follow you on your journey to the top and we hope that you will comeback and do another interview with us after you finish your world tour?
Thanks – that’s very kind of you and definitely. Sounds like it’ll be a World Tour minus Europe at this rate…
The worlds in a weird place but we’ve gotta just look after each other. Thanks for taking the time to interview us.
