Hailing from Birmingham, Joe Wright brings meaningful lyrics, hard hitting, no-nonsense sounds and an eye-catching wardrobe. Joe blends classic well-loved Rock with a fresh newer style of indie. Growing up in Birmingham UK, Joe idolised Music Heroes such as Liam Gallagher, Richard Ashcroft and Ian Brown. Wanting to create music the same as they did in their teenage years, Joe learned to play guitar and wrote songs about his working-class experiences. Now Joe is on track to achieve his dream of becoming the one thing he’s always wanted: A Rock n Roll star.
Joe Wright’s newest track is coincidentally the first track written by the singer songwriter. Having previously four singles from the brash, in your face tracks such as ‘You Know I Know’ and ‘You and Me’ to the more melodic, ballad like ‘Her Love’, Joe brings a new breed of indie rock n roll with honest relatable lyrics and an unmistakable vocal.
Released on 30th September 2022, ‘Beautiful Nothing’ follows true to form, anthemic, infectious and an energy infused sound delivers the message that you should stay true to who you are and not follow or change to suit others. Exactly what Joe is trying to do through his music, yes, the influences are clear yet it is still his own unique sound.
“An energy infused sound”
On opening, a driven guitar riff reminiscent of that classic indie/Britpop era of the 90’s sets the scene before the pummelling drums and deep bass notes jump in accompanied by the smooth yet snarling vocal, delivered with a passion and energy which is unmistakably Joe.
“Crisp vocal delivery”
Driven by really catchy guitar riffs and pacey drum beats it has a bouncy upbeat feel, it doesn’t scream at you its not right in your face yet it does have an edge, a real air of confidence is portrayed in the crisp vocal delivery. Soaring above the guitar, bass and drums it compliments the music and this is reciprocated. A really strong track in my opinion.
“Honest indie rock n roll”
It is anthemic, uplifting and very catchy, the kind of song that will have you humming it all day. Its honest indie rock n roll, full of energy, relatable lyrics and a fantastic vocal. “I don’t ever want to change” sings Joe, well for me he doesn’t need to. This track is sure to attract new fans and listeners. I have to admit I haven’t listened to Joe Wright’s music before, and now I have its obvious that this emerging talent is on his way to fulfilling his dreams of being (As the great man once said) “A Rock n Roll Star”.
