The Sensitive Souls are an indie rock duo from Glasgow, consisting of brothers Jamie & Marc Strachan. Influenced by the likes of Frightened Rabbit, Glasvegas and Twin Atlantic with lyrics that are very open and at the same time touching and relatable, they wear their heart on their sleeve.

They released their first single ‘A Man’s Best Friend’ in November 2021, a heart felt track about grief and losing someone that you love, however it’s a song about the celebration of life. This was followed in April 2022 with ‘Maybe There’s More Than This’. In July 2022 they returned with their debut EP ‘I Hope You See The Light’ including these singles and a new track ‘See The Light’ a song about supporting a loved one through tough times. This EP also features a live session of ‘Anxieties’ This track was the catalyst that started the project and began as a solo track from Jamie.

The Sensitive Souls are due to release their next track on October 28th 2022 ‘End of The Road’ – a song that expresses the feeling of giving your all and feeling like it never works out for you but you continue to try and try again but the feeling is still there.

“Expressive emotive vocal”

Opening with a slow haunting melody backed with added colour from synths and strings to give an atmospheric feel. The beat picks up, subtle drum patterns laced with melodic hooks that accentuates the deep yet expressive emotive vocal. Its full of feeling and packed with shimmering melodies.

“Shimmering melodies”

Its honest, the subject matter is totally relatable, despite feeling you are getting nowhere even though you are giving everything you know if you keep trying you will get there in the end, a song of hope. The line “Remember how far you’ve came” suggests that you are getting there. I think many bands out there could relate to this, I know many try so hard but feel they are getting nowhere. It could be a soundtrack for you all. Keep at it!

“Deep and resonating”

There are some harmonies in there that blend perfectly, The Sensitive Souls have a unique sound, not guitar driven with pummelling beats that you get with many bands today, they live up to their name, it is sensitive and does come from the soul. I like this track, it has a warming vibe, its deep and resonating with a plethora of delicious string and synth melodies that give a palette of colour filling the soundscape. I like the vocal, it contrasts with brightness of the instrumental but fits perfectly adding a new dimension. Its an honest, emotive song expressed in a way that is enticing and keeps you listening.
