Hi and welcome to the Awayday Radio interview were each week we will be interviewing new and up and coming bands and artists from the UK.
This week we have Felix Hill
Hiya Felix firstly thanks for letting Awayday Radio interview?
Hi, thank you for having me!
Please introduce us to yourself.
I’m Felix Hill, an 18-year-old singer-songwriter from Manchester.
What first got you into music?
I grew up in a very musical house, as my dad is an incredibly talented guitarist. I decided to start learning the guitar at around 15, after watching a video of Alex Turner playing ‘Love is a laser quest’ on YouTube.
Who inspired you to make music?
I have many musical influences, ranging from artists like The Strokes, Arctic Monkeys, The Beatles, Steely Dan, Bruno Major and David Bowie. I am a fan of good music from any genre.
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
The songs I typically write are concise stories with catchy choruses, set to memorable instrumentals.
Have you signed with a record label?
I am not currently signed with a record label.
Where have you performed?
I have played at venues across Manchester, including the Deaf Institute, Off The Square and AATMA
What are your favourite and least favourite venues?
I have enjoyed all the venues I have performed at, but the Deaf Institute was my first ever gig. It’s a night that I’ll never forget.
Do you have any upcoming shows?
I am currently in the process of confirming something.
What is your favourite song to perform?
A lot of my favourite songs are new which I haven’t been able to play live yet. However, my favourite song that I have played live is Streetlight Panorama.
What other songs or albums have you done?
I’ve released 6 singles and I’m hoping to continue releasing music regularly.
Which famous musicians do you admire and why?
I admire David Bowie for his confidence and fearlessness to be himself, which then translates into his unique and brilliant music.
What is one message you would give to your fans?
A message I’d give to my fans, is thank you so much for all the support so far. However I’m just getting started!
I got to ask this but what football teams do you support?
I support Manchester United and was even on trial for them when I was younger.
What’s next for you? Well here at Awayday Radio we are big fans of yours so we will follow you on your journey to the top and we hope that you will comeback and do another interview with us after you finish your world tour?
Thank you for the questions and I’ll definitely do another interview
