20/11 – The Cribs – Night Network

Wakefield’s trio of brothers The Cribs returned with their eighth album ‘Night Network’.

‘Night Network’ is the eighth studio album from The Cribs and the first since 2017’s ’24-7 Rock Star Shit’. During the time since the last release, The Cribs went through a messy time with their management and nearly called it a day as a band. The Cribs have said that ‘Night Network’ was recorded in the same way as their debut, self-titled L.P.
Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl was the reason that The Cribs didn’t throw the towel in. After supporting Foo Fighters at the Etihad Stadium in Manchester the Jarman brothers felt that this was a good place to bow out. While explaining the reasons why they have had enough of it all, Grohl gave the encouragement that was needed to carry on.
He was listening, nodding along,” – Gary remembered.
And then he was like, ‘Fuck it, forget about it, you’re supposed to be musicians, make a record. You’re not lawyers, you’re not accountants… The rest of this shit will work itself out’. It was really clarifying, Dave Grohl, saying, ‘Make a fucking album’.

Grennan Is set to release his second album titled ‘Evering Road’ on 5th March. Other tracks already released are ‘This is the Place’, ‘Oh Please’ and ‘Amen’.

Speaking about the track Tom Grennan had the following to say,
“When I wrote ‘Something Better’, it was a song about me smiling on the outside but dealing with a whirlwind of dark thoughts and distractions on the inside. Since Covid-19 and lockdown, the tables have turned! I’m smiling on the inside, and I’m constantly distracted with thoughts of the exciting, crazy and better future that is coming, and it’s just around the corner!”
