Hailing from Peterborough, The Tenters are a four-piece indie band formed in 2021. They are Will Munton (Vocals and Rhythm Guitar), Kane Brownlie (Lead Guitar), Rob Lester (Bass Guitar) and Will Ollie (Drums.
Their debut single ‘Alexander’ was released in 2021 with their 2nd ‘‘Good Will’ following two weeks later and featured on BBC Introducing. Both tracks earning The Tenters a number of plaudits and monthly listeners.
Since then, the band have been busy, writing new material and rehearsing. Taking influence from a variety of artists and genres including The Cure, Kings of Leon and Catfish and the Bottlemen with shades of 90’s Britpop, they have just released their 3rd track ‘Indigo’ on 28th October recorded at Backlands Studio.
The song itself according to the band “Isn’t really about a single subject or topic as a whole and whilst it has some personal meaning in places, the idea is that my ‘Indigo’ is completely different to what yours or anyone else’s may be. It has a certain fluidity to it which does tie into a more ‘overall’ theme for the song, movement. Whether that be physical, emotional, mental or through our senses. The idea that even when it may seem as though something is at a standstill, it isn’t”.
“Scintillating lead fills”
Instantly the opening riffs hook, melodic, piercing and crisp. There is a real energy in this track, highlighted by the powerful drum beats that have your feet tapping and a deep, resonating bass line that has the nodding. The guitars drive the track, captivating riffs and hooks and scintillating lead fills that flash in and out of the pummelling drum and bass rhythms.
“Vibrant, upbeat and energetic”
The vocal is powerful, full of passion, hints of a certain Mark Morris (Bluetones) and with added harmonies give an anthemic feel to the track especially in the choruses. It’s a great sound. Vibrant, upbeat and energetic and a guaranteed floor filler, audiences will love this. As previously mentioned, standing still is not an option. The lyrics will resonate with many Lines like “I need you more than you know” could mean a multitude of things and could change from day to day…the key being fluidity and this track has it in spades.

It’s a really addictive track, it has a swaggering feel good vibe. Its one of those songs that will have you singing along to within minutes, rammed with great melodies, powerful, crisp vocals and an energy that lifts you from the first guitar riff. A really great track and I can’t wait for the next one.
