Joe Stanley: ‘For You -Prototype’

Liverpool based solo artist Joe Stanley is raising the bar with his new release, ‘For You – Prototype’. Baring all the hallmarks of his signature sound, this latest release has the potential to become a new, indefinable anthem for the masses. Relatable lyrics gives the track a real grounding which most can identify with, while the music is a mix of guitar, electronic keyboard and bass, all played by Stanley – the idea to showcase his individual talents before blending his sound with other artists further along in his career.

Having picked up the guitar aged 16, Joe spent the first two years gigging around his hometown of Wigan. Now residing in Liverpool, lockdown gave Joe the opportunity to write and record demos in his University bedroom. Taking influence from artists such as Declan McKenna, Rex Orange County and Sam Fender, ‘For You – Prototype’ is Joe’s first full band production; brought to life at The Motor Museum by producer Bob Mackenzie.

This track is about desperation, chasing someone, but trying to look cool about it. A story of someone who will do anything, including changing who they are, to find love while trying to appear outwardly nonchalant – let’s be honest many of us have been there at least once so the theme is very accessible and understandable!

With a strong beat, sharp synthesizers and Stanley’s unique, and at times urban-sounding voice, this track defies most genres and won’t fit neatly into any one category, making it a real stand out release which genuinely offers something new and distinctly different. A mid-tempo beat that gets your body moving and your mind thinking, the chorus will stick in your head and I defy anyone not to find themselves singing along.

The rest of the year will see Joe back in the studio at The Motor Museum recording and releasing more tracks. Further to this, Joe will be looking to perform around the Liverpool area, doing solo shows using his guitar and loop station.
