Hi and welcome to the Awayday Radio interview where each week we will be interviewing new and up and coming bands and artists from the UK.

This week we have The Superlatives!

Hiya Guys firstly thanks for letting Awayday Radio interview?

Thanks.

Please introduce us to the band.

We are a 3 piece indie rock band from Leeds.
Charlie lead guitar/vox.
Tom bass guitar.
Jamie drums and backing .

What first got you into music?

I think for all of us it’s our parents. I was heavily influenced by what my dad was listening to, Tom the bass player comes from a musically talented family and Jamie’s Mam loves all sorts of stuff, she had him singing rage against the machine at 3 years old.

Who inspired you to make music?

For me, I just loved the thought of being a Rockstar. Simple as. Who wouldn’t wanna be one?

How would you describe the music that you typically create?

I think it’s best described as indie/punk. We’ve got a much harder edge to us than most indie bands and for a three-piece our sound is massive.

Have you signed with a record label?

Nope.

Where have you performed?

All over the UK, Germany, Holland. We’ll play anywhere, I think all of us have a soft spot for Glasgow, the crowds up there are brilliant!

What are your favourite and least favourite venues?

Favourite we’ve played probably the classic grand in Glasgow. Least favourite is Wetherby social club, we turned up n interrupted the bingo…but f**k em!

Do you have any upcoming shows?

We are scheduled to get back to Germany in august if Covid settles down hopefully.

What is your favourite song to perform?

Depends what mood I’m in, but if it’s live, something aggressive and big like “What Will You Do With Me” or “Chicka Chick”.

What other songs or albums have you done?

Everything we’ve ever done (minus most of the shite) is on Spotify so go have a look!

Which famous musicians do you admire and why?

Me personally I’m a big oasis fan, Jamie loves Travis Barker n Keith moon and Tom loves everyone, he’s lovely like that.

What is one message you would give to your fans?

When this is all over, get out to gigs, support bands. We can all have a right party together when this is done with! And remember the best song ever written a proper never been heard so go find it.

I got to ask this but what football teams do you support?

Charlie – Glasgow rangers
Jamie – Man Utd
Tom – Leeds

What casual gear do you all wear?

I and Jamie have a lot of Adidas stuff, I lean more to the skinhead/scooter boy fashions, dc martens Fred Perry’s Harrington jackets n that. Jamie’s probably the most up to date with modern fashion and Tom has the best haircut.

What’s next for you?

Get out and get gigging! Gagging for it and I really think (and hope) there is a real revival in the live music scene after lockdown is all done. We can’t take these things for granted anymore and life’s short, so get yourselves out!

Well, here at Awayday Radio we are big fans of yours so we will follow you on your journey to the top and we hope that you will come back and do another interview with us after you finish your world tour?

Certainly….through our PA’s 😉
