The Forensics are a four-piece indie-pop band from Lancashire. Inspired by bands such as The Smiths, The Stone Roses and The Verve, the band plan on creating a fresh twist on the sing-a-long indie anthems that they grew up with. The line-up consists of Liam Reilly (Lead vocals/guitar), Jordan King (Lead guitar), Jamie Smith (Bass) and Dan Lewis (Drums). The band have been playing under a different name for about a year but have been under the new band name for only a few weeks.
They are set to release their debut single ‘Change my Mind’ on the 26th July 2022. I managed a sneaky peak at the new track ahead of its release and have to say it is an excellent debut. The song itself (I am told) is about finding someone who is worth settling down for and worth giving up the party lifestyle for and this evident in the opening line “you are the one who made me change my mind”. So its something most of us can relate to…cant we?
“A real crowd pleaser”
After a a few bars the drum beat kicks in, at first you think its got that New order dance feel but reverts back to a more Britpop indie feel as it gets going and the lead guitar riff comes in. The vocal is really strong, a great voice.
The whole thing is tight. Full of melodies and riffs, backed with a cool drum beat and a deep resonating bass, it’s a really uplifting track, a song for the Summer! A real crowd pleaser. Its one of those songs that needs cranking up and blasting out as you sit in the garden with a cold beer in the sun.

Its clear where their influences lie, but, as I have said before who cares its about the music and its great music. I can see these pushing on, they already sound really accomplished and like they have been around for a while already
All in all a really strong opener for the lads from Lancashire, already looking forward to see what else they have to offer us…Its looking good!
The Forensics are due to play at GlastonFerret Festival, Preston on 25th August 2022, with The Blinders headlining so well worth a visit if this track is anything to go by,
