Hiya Guys thanks for letting Awayday Radio interview?
thanks for having us on Awayday Radio.
Please introduce us to the band.
We’re The Rosadocs and we’re based in Sheffield.
What first got you into music?
We started in 2017 when we released our first song ‘No.54’. The tune received massive reviews and set us on a different course than we initially intended.
My (keelan) first introduction to music was when I first heard Jake Bugg’s debut solo album.
Me and some mates would sit and blast it out from our Nokia bricks.
Who inspired you to make music?
We all grew up listening to bands like the Arctic Monkeys and The Enemy, so it was only natural that we’d grow up to want to write our own tunes!
How would you describe the music that you typically create?
We like to describe our music as we were once articulated by a music magazine, which read: “They are described as having meaningful lyrical roots with strong guitar driven melodies and anthemic, arena filling choruses.” We strive to create songs with strong lyrical power that all can relate to, that are all wrapped around big chorus’ that get any crowd going.
Have you signed with a record label?
We haven’t signed to a record deal, but that’s not to say we haven’t had offers. We are waiting for something that suits us and our music the best.
What are your favourite and least favourite venues?
We have played in O2 academies around the UK including both Leeds and Sheffield, in our own county of Yorkshire. We played Barnsley FC’s football stadium twice in two years and both to attendances of over 18,000 people. We have also played sets on many major UK festivals and sold out all hometown shows in Sheffield including the 900 capacity Leadmill.
Do you have any upcoming shows?
Our next show (which is socially distanced) is in May at The Leadmill in Sheffield, and it is sold out. We have a lot of plans being made and we can promise you’ll be seeing a lot of us this year.
What other songs or albums have you done?
Our favourite song to perform is probably our tune ‘Concrete’ as it is the song we end on and has a massive ending that the crowds always go mad to. It’s amazing when you hear the crowds singing your own words back to you with so much passion. We have done 4 singles previous to our latest project but our current EP ‘Two Wrongs Make A Riot’ is by far the best and biggest thing we’ve done yet. All songs on the EP correlate into one continuous story that all include full music videos alongside.
Which famous musicians do you admire and why?
The story follows on from the one before, one track at a time. Keelan (Singer/Guitarist) would say Tom Clarke of the enemy for his working class anthemic sound or Alex Turner because of his lyrical finesse. Callum (Drummer) would say many of the artists in bands such as Queen or Motley Crue as the drummers played pivotal roles in those bands. Adam (Bassist) would say Bruce Foxton from the Jam because of his unique style of playing and the passion with which they played live. Joe (Lead Guitarist) would say John Mayer because of the technique in guitar playing.
I got to ask this but what football teams do you support?
As for football teams we are quite split (haha). Keelan supports Chesterfield, Adam is a Blade, Callum is a Barnsley fan and Joe is Rotherham. Makes match days interesting…
What casual gear do you all wear?
As for clobber, we are all massive fans of Pretty Green, Barbour, Fred Perry and stone Island. All of which we wear for shows regularly. We’ve had many an expensive jacket ruined by red stripe haha.
What’s next for you?
Our next move is bigger and better… we aim to sell out shows around the UK, including a full UK tour and festivals. We have enough songs for 3 albums worth ready to demo so you’ll be seeing a lot of us over the next few years.
Well here at Awayday Radio we are big fans of yours so we will follow you on your journey to the top and we hope that you will comeback and do another interview with us after you finish your world tour?
Thanks for having us on. We’ll be back for sure. Cheers.
