Josh Myers is a British actor who has appeared in many films you would of heard of, from Fighting With My Family to Rise of the Footsoldier 3 : The Pat Tate Story. Josh Joined us at Awayday Radio for a quick chat.
Hi Josh, Thanks once again for doing this for us. Any questions you don’t want to answer just leave them.
We believe you are into your boxing but if any which team do you support? And if so did you ever get involved in any off the field activities in your younger years?
Yes I love my boxing keeps me fit and healthy and just love the training side of it a lot . I support chelsea not a massive football fan if I’m honest but my dad is a massive chelsea fan so since I was young kid supported them .When I was younger I played football all the time at school and also played for a team called Hendon fc but these days just do my boxing .
Any ambition to get in the ring?
Not really to be honest. I already have a broken nose from fights when I was young and stupid . I just love the training side of boxing .
How did you first get into acting?
Well my Dad is a film distributor and so was my Grandad but unfortunately he passed away way before he could see me get to this stage in my career. He always said I should be an actor ,so I got into Sylvia young theater school and was there for years it was a great time lots of fun and that was the start .
You have been in quite a few British gangster/crime films working with many very talented actors. Who has been the most pleasure to work alongside?
That is a very tough question because to be honest. Most of the actors I have worked with so far have all been amazing and great to work with. For example Craig Fairbrass ,Jamie foreman ,Roland Manookian, Terry Stone, Tom hardy ,Toby Kebell, Nick Nevern, Noel clarke the list goes on! Can’t really have one, there all great to work with .
You starred along Meghan Markle in the brilliant “Anti-Social”. What was she like to work with and are you still in touch?
Thanks for that! Yeah I loved working on anti social it was great fun and good film. I thought .Meghan Markle was lovely to work with and we spent time together on and off set like had few dinners some nights she was really lovely just a nice person .
Is it true that Michael Myers in The Halloween films is named after your Grandad?
Yep that is the truth. My Grandad helped the director john Carpenter who wrote and directed the films into a huge success in the UK with his films before he did Halloween, so as a thank you he named the killer in the film after my Grandad. True story.
What music are you listening to at the moment and anything new you would recommend?
I listen to all different types of music when I drive. Love a bit of classical, just chills me out especially on the way to a film set when I get picked up. I always says classical.
What does the future hold for you?
Well i have a few films in the pipe line. The next one to shoot I have a good role in is Footsoldier Origins: The Tony Tucker Story and a few others but i’m not allowed to mention them yet sorry about that .
